My Teaching Philosophy
My entire life I have had a driving passion for any form of art. Whether it is painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, or crafts. This is why am so enthusiastic about structuring a meaningful art experience for my students. I appreciate how much art affects us in our daily lives and think it is very important to expand children’s creativity, imagination, and aesthetic sense. I am continually seeking more knowledge in the fields of education and art with a deep commitment to students and a strong willingness to work as a team player.
Each class has a unique range of academic, physical, emotional abilities, learning styles, preferences, interest, and parental support. That is why I always apply differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students. It is my goal to build self-esteem and ensure every student feels capable and successful. Through art, students can develop critical thinking, problem solving, self-discipline, learning to closely observe, and self-expression. These are life-long skills that are beneficial in all content areas.
I think art education is such a great gateway to motivate and encourage learners. I plan to transform my classroom into a respectful caring environment that is fun, supportive and accommodating to different abilities and learning styles. Throughout my elementary, middle and high school years, I was always very excited when it was time for art class. I hope to create that excitement in my students. I want my passion for art to be contagious to every learner I encounter.
